Terms of Service.

Plain-language terms covering how you use SeattleLinked, what we do with your information, and what to expect from us.

Last updated: May 3, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SeattleLinked, including the website at seattlelinked.org, the public business directory, listing applications, contact forms, newsletter, and any related services we operate (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service — visiting the site, applying for a listing, submitting a contact form, or subscribing to our newsletter — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. About SeattleLinked

SeattleLinked is an independent local-business discovery directory for Seattle, operated by SeattleLinked Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 42-2118382). It's built around FIFA World Cup 2026 and operates year-round beyond it. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of FIFA, the FIFA World Cup, or any host committee.

We list Seattle-area businesses and partners across categories including dining, hotels, retail, entertainment, arts, healthcare, and transportation. We may add, remove, modify, or restrict access to features at any time.

3. Business listings and applications

You can apply for a listing through one of our published packages (currently World Cup tiers and a free Basic tier). All applications are reviewed by our team before publication. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or require edits to any listing for any reason, including factual inaccuracy, violation of these Terms, conflict with our partners' reasonable expectations, or content we consider unsuitable.

You represent that you have the authority to list the business you apply on behalf of, and that information you submit (org name, contact, address, hours, photos, descriptions) is accurate and non-infringing.

4. Payments, refunds, and the Basic tier

Paid listings are charged once at the time of application via Stripe. If we cannot approve your application, we refund the full listing fee within 7 business days. After approval, paid packages are non-refundable for the duration of their stated coverage period.

The Basic tier is free and provides a name + category listing in the directory. Free listings are still subject to review, accuracy, and removal at our discretion.

We take 0% commission on revenue generated by listed businesses through their listings, the Global Fan Zone, or any other channel. Listing fees are the only money we collect from vendors.

5. Email communications and newsletter

Important — please read

Any email address you provide to SeattleLinked — whether through a business application, the contact form, the newsletter sign-up form, the apply form for the free Basic listing, or any other interaction with the Service — will be added to our newsletter mailing list, and you will receive periodic email updates from us.

These emails may include match-day deals, new listings, Global Fan Zone news, partner spotlights, and platform updates. We send what we believe is genuinely useful — not high-frequency promotional spam.

You can unsubscribe at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email hello@seattlelinked.org to be removed. Once you unsubscribe, you will stop receiving newsletter emails (you may still receive transactional messages related to a specific application or inquiry you initiated).

6. Analytics and visitor tracking

We collect basic analytics about how the Service is used so we can improve it. This includes pages viewed, approximate time on site, referrer (the site you came from), browser/device family, and approximate location at the country and city level (resolved from your IP address using infrastructure-level geolocation). We do not collect or store your precise location.

We do notstore your raw IP address. We hash it with a salt and store only the hash so we can de-duplicate sessions without holding personally identifiable data. Analytics data is stored in our own database (Supabase), and we use Vercel's built-in privacy-friendly analytics for aggregate page-view counts. We do not sell or share visitor data.

You can disable our visitor tracking by enabling your browser's “Do Not Track” signal, using a tracking-blocking extension, or browsing in a private window. Email hello@seattlelinked.org if you would like a record of, or the deletion of, analytics data tied to your hashed identifier.

7. Your content

When you submit content to the Service — listing copy, photos, logos, inquiries, contact-form messages — you grant SeattleLinked a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, format, and distribute that content as part of the Service, for so long as your listing or content remains active.

You represent that you own or have the rights to all content you submit, that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights, and that it isn't unlawful, misleading, defamatory, or sexually explicit.

8. Advertising

We may run promotional ads on the Service, including ads sourced from listed Elite/Platinum businesses, manual ads from outside advertisers, and house promotions for SeattleLinked itself. Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their ad content. Inclusion of an ad does not constitute an endorsement.

9. Partners and sponsors

SeattleLinked operates in partnership with civic, cultural, and community organizations — including Seattle Center as our Main Sponsor for the Global Fan Zone activation. References to partners on the Service describe the nature of those collaborations and do not imply that any partner has reviewed or endorses any individual listing.

10. Third-party services and links

The Service uses third-party providers, including Supabase (database/storage), Stripe (payments), Mapbox (maps), and Vercel (hosting). The Service also links to external business websites and maps. We are not responsible for the content, security, or practices of third-party sites and services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

11. Our intellectual property

The SeattleLinked name, logo, design, and the original copy on this Service are owned by SeattleLinked. You may not copy, scrape, or re-publish substantial portions of the Service for commercial use without our written permission. Listing pages may be linked to and shared.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, that businesses are open, that match-day offers are honored, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Confirm hours, prices, and availability directly with the business before you go.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SeattleLinked and its operators, partners, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or on-site notice. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms? Email us at hello@seattlelinked.org or use the contact form. We read everything.
